One of a Kind

Meaning "Light of Andalusia," Luz de Andalucía reinterprets the iconic silhouette of the historic Alhambra vase through a contemporary ceramic language. Hand-thrown on a traditional potter's wheel, the piece combines hand-carved sgraffito decoration with geometric openwork inspired by Nasrid ornamentation. A copper oxide slip creates a richly textured surface that evokes the appearance of carved stone. Fired in a traditional wood-burning kiln, the work brings together centuries-old ceramic traditions with a refined contemporary expression.

Material: Clay, copper oxide slip

Technique: Hand-thrown on a traditional potter's wheel, coated with copper oxide slip, decorated using the sgraffito technique and geometric openwork, and fired in a traditional wood-burning kiln.
