Carved from prehistoric Irish bog oak, Spirit of the Bog draws inspiration from the folklore, traditions and history associated with Ireland's ancient boglands. The deep, obsidian black color is revealed through the natural preservation of ancient timber buried in oxygen-poor peatlands for millennia. Carbon dated to nearly 5,000 years old, this finite natural material carries a direct physical connection to Ireland's distant past. Hand-carved and meticulously sanded, the wood reveals a dense texture, rich depth and an expressive sculptural presence.

Material: Irish bog oak (Quercus petraea)

Technique: Air-drying, hand-carving, and hand-sanding

Safety & Care: Ensure placement on a solid, stable surface. Keep away from moisture, open flames, and extreme heat. Clean with a soft, dry microfiber cloth without water, detergents, or chemicals.

Certificate: Official Radiocarbon Date Certificate (14CHRONO Centre, Belfast) included.
